WORKING WITH CHRONIC PAIN, PERTH

Dr Madeleine Goodman - Osteopath

Originally from country Victoria, Madeleine graduated from RMIT University in 2014. She now has close to ten years experience living and working in Perth. Her own passions include playing/coaching Australian Rules Football, hiking and camping and will happily discuss your latest book recommendation.

Madeleine sees working with people to improve their health and wellbeing as a privilege. Her passion for osteopathy is driven by her love for helping people return to the activities they enjoy most or start new ones without the hindrance of pain or dysfunction.

Her treatments range from a more structural approach (joint mobilisation, myofascial release, stretching), to more gentle techniques such as biodynamics, cranial and visceral techniques.

With nine years experience, Madeleine is comfortable treating a range of complaints. She particularly gets satisfaction working with people on:

  • Reducing chronic pain

  • Pregnancy related discomfort

  • Headaches

  • Persisting sporting injuries

  • Neck and lower back complaints

  • Visceral/post surgical restrictions

  • Supporting the body with the impacts of stress

She appreciates the often overwhelming experience of living with pain, and works with her patients in understanding their bodies to ultimately form lifelong  coping strategies in the face of pain.  Along with continued professional development, in April 2022 she completed her Professional Certificate in Pain Neuroscience Education with the University of South Australia.
