Contributions to the profession
Osteopathy Australia- Board of Directors
Georgia served two terms as a director on the board of Osteopathy Australia 2018-2023, contributing to strategies for increasing awareness and access to osteopathy. Additionally, she chaired the Osteopathy Australia Research Committee, overseeing the launch of various research initiatives including a Osteopathy Australia Research Foundation; Annual Grants Program; and Research Mentorship Program. You can read more on her reflections below.
Osteopathy in WA
In 2021, Georgia facilitated the collaboration of Perth Osteopathic clinics to be able to recruit and support new graduates coming to Perth as a collective. There are 3,500 osteopaths in Australia and only 70 in WA, as all the universities that train osteopaths are currently over east. To help get more osteopaths to more West Australians, we needed to be a united front! Development of the website www.osteopathyinwa.com; allows for new graduates to see available positions, perks of living in WA, and if in their first 5 years of graduation, connection with osteopaths in a similar life and career stage and access to the State Mentorship Program- supported by 12 experienced clinicians across metro Perth.
out in the real world
When Georgia isn’t working, you can find her walking her dog Edgar (Summit Osteopathy’s resident retired racing greyhound), or going for long hikes in far off places. She also enjoys volunteering at Break the Boundary Inc as an adaptive hiking leader and committee member, assisting people with disabilities to get off flat surfaces and out into the WA bush through adaptive hiking and mountain biking!
Unfortunately, Georgia is not accepting new patients.
